Franken for the Win!
Al Franken has been declared the winner in Minnesota. After a very long recount, in which residents of all nine circles of hell had to go through each ballot by hand while listening to a constant droning soundtrack of lawyers endlessly argue over their validity, Franken came out ahead by 225 votes.
As soon as that asshat, Norm Coleman, gets his suing and contesting over with, I am confident that Al Franken will be going to Washington.
And that is a very very good thing. For Minnesota. For the Senate. For everyone.
The End. Congratulations Al!

i love john stewart and that the daily show is excellent at showing clips in which people make different statements that directly conflict with each other. i mean, it’s all rhetoric, but in this case, it’s rhetoric in the direction to which i happen to lean, so i enjoy it *more*.
yesterday, he showed norm coleman during the recount that was in his favor, calling for al franken to concede, and supposedly that’s what he would do, if the tables were turned.
but here we are, turned tables and all, and he’s not conceding at all.
isn’t that funny (in a sad-clown sort of way)?

Indeed. Jon Stewart has a gift for displaying people’s ridiculousness and hypocrisy through quotes and video. I think he’s secretly one of the most important media minds of our time. The 60′s apparently had Brokaw (since he’s just written a book) and I will look back and say “but we had Jon Stewart!”.
