I Rest My Case.
In my earlier post, I expressed doubts at my original gut reaction, that it was Kate’s eye in the promo. I was frustrated because I couldn’t find a good picture of Evangeline Lily doing that big wide-eyed shocked or scared Kate face that she does. At the very least, I wanted a good shot without makeup to see the shape of her eye.
I found one. Now I know it’s not up close and it’s not at the same angle quite, but LOOK at the shape of her eye and the indent by her nose! I really do think it’s Kate.
Yeah, yeah… I know it’s more likely to be Jack’s. But I’m not convinced completely and I want it to be Kate, for some reason. So I’m going with that. Whatevs. You have to admit, it’s possible!

Husband and I agreed it was Kate from the get go, and I argued over on the first post that it doesn’t look like Jack’s eye due to the eyebrow issue. So, I’m still going Kate. And yes, I would like it to be Kate’s eye, too. Why? Because it’s different, because though unlikely, it indicates that Jack might be dead (yay!), and because it’s about damn time that female characters start having some importance and relevance on the show.

I agree with you Cara. After the promo we were discussing how Kate was originally intended to be the “leader” and Jack was supposed to die in the first episode. After Matthew Fox signed on and they saw how everyone interacted, they changed their minds and the storyline. We thought because of that… it would be really cool if in this final season we saw Kate step up and be the major factor and take charge. Locke is no longer with us, Ben is kinda of broken and Jack has been kind of erratic/crazy for some time now. So, really Juliet and Kate both stepping up in the last episode could mean something for the next season. And you are right, it would be about time. Also – can someone give Sun her character back, because I miss her!?!?

OK, now I think it’s probably Jack’s eye. I still want it to be Ben’s though.
