David Yates to direct a “Doctor Who” MOVIE?

Just caught this on /film:

This has been a long time coming. Doctor Who, the BBC sci-fi series that has run for decades starting in 1963, with a few breaks here and there, will finally hit the big screen after several years of rumors about a new film being in development. The BBC has enlisted Harry Potter director David Yates to bring the series to the big screen.

It goes on to say that this will be a “clean break” from the current series, so we won’t be seeing the fezes and bowties of my current beloved Eleven.  And I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t want to see Rory and Amy Pond on the big screen. Mixed feelings a bit, I guess?

What do you think?
