This Week in Aggressive Apathy
things I don’t care about that are starting to make me feel stabby because of their unrelenting media coverage:
1. What anyone was wearing at the Oscars.
I think people should wear what makes them happy. I hate the identical “best/worst dressed” lists and I hate the obsessive conformity/casual misogyny masquerading as news or interest behind a microphone… for example how one woman wearing a dress with cutouts can look daring and elegant and another with sheer lace is “innappropriate”, even called trashy. I hate it all. Just once I want someone to get up and answer the question “who are you wearing tonight” either by saying “someone artistic, unknown and accessible” or by saying “what the fuck does it matter, can we talk about my movie?” Then and only then, I will give a shit.
