podcast outlook is good.
One of my favorite casts, Smodcast (Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier) has a new episode posted, after literally months of no new casts. I’m very excited.
I’m a big Kevin Smith fan. I think he’s a fantastic and hilarious human being. I also like his movies. His podcast is smart, vulgar, insightful, sometimes disturbing, often surprising and always entertaining. There is an archive up if you want to start from the beginning. It frequently has guest hosts, like Jason Mewes, and his best friends from Jersey. Its wonderful. Like sitting around in his living room and just discussing topics at random. Except you just listen (and laugh… a lot).
I love podcasts. I think I love podcasts, because I love public radio and what podcasting is, really, is pirate radio through the internet… except with no need to pirate air waves. The internet has made it possible for anyone to have a radio show with no commericials, no censors, on virtually any topic. Its fascinating to me.
Like my daily/weekly blogroll, I am trying to grow the amount of podcasts I listen to on a regular basis. I enjoy being a regular listening of podcasts (and public radio shows). And I like having entertainment while I’m doing chores, projects, painting or whatever. I was painting sets the other day for a local high school drama show and I blasted through like five hours of painting in my basement with five hours of podcast. I like listening to music when I’m working on something, but sometimes I get stuck on finding the “right music”…. talking is easier to settle on, easier to ignore in moments when I’m concentrating and it just creates a nice flow.
So if there are any suggestions for podcasts out there, please let me know. I’m specifically looking for a LOST cast that goes back to at least Season 2. I’m just beginning to watch Season 3 and I would like to hear geeky discussion of 2 and with the episodes as I move along.
Oh and I’m currently fasting from any political talk podcasts until we have a candidate. (Because I’m tired of the Hillary/Obama back and forth and I really don’t feel like there is anything else left to talk about or listen to, I just want it over with so we can focus on the REAL problem… beating McCain).
